Girly girly very girly princess pants

I really don’t understand why so few people make up the children patterns from Burda. I find some of them really cute. For this pattern I used a fabric I had definitely only bought because the price was low, a thin denim-like cotton with embroidered princess crowns. For the deco, I used some remnants of this Cameroonian fabric, which design is traditionally royal or at least noble so it fits well both color- and themewise. Did I tell you that at the moment DD goes through a princess girly phase where she loves anything princess-y or anything with Hello Kitty?  At least I’m hoping it’s only a phase because I was not a girly girl and having a permanently through and through girly daughter would kind of throw me out of concept. Anyway, upon seeing these pants and even before she tried them on, I got the most kisses in the shortest amount of time and the most efusive declaration of love I ever got from her for any reason. If you’re the kind of person that gets nauseous when exposed to abundant girliness, you might want to skip the following pictures. Here they come:

The fit is okay. They’re a bit long at the moment but this is not a flaw of the pattern. I didn’t change a thing except skipping the embellishment on the leg. I think most will agree that the embroidered crowns are enough embellishment. The instructions were okay except the part on the mock fly front, where I resorted to some Ottobre instructions. I’m most proud of my pattern matching on the back pockets. The finishing is french seams. I’m not quite sure why my pocket openings are not shaped like in the mag but it really doesn’t bother me nor DD (though I think these princess crowns would distract her from any flaw, really…).
