Drape Drape Dress
January 29, 2012
There’s really not much to say about this dress, except that I’m in love with it. It’s super comfortable, it looks good, it’s nursing-friendly. The fabric is made of 88,2% microfiber, 1,8% PES and 10% elasthan and is as light as 160g/m.
Here’s the original dress:
And here is mine:
The Japanese sizing remains a puzzle to me: if the drape drape flower top had to be altered at the hips, I didn’t have that issue with this one. I even made a FBA that I doubt was necessary. Here’s how I did it if you’re interested anyway:

Very nice!! I’m scared to death of Japanese patterns.

You shouldn’t! Vogue and others would learn a lot from Japanese illustrators becaus it’s the drawings that make the patterns so easy to make.

I wanted to make this one then I saw the amount of fabric it required and ran screaming.

I’m coming back to this post because I have some fabric lined up for this dress (maybe) – it’s so useful to be able to see the drape in your dress and to hear that hips are OK (I had been wondering what adjustments I would need)… Thanks!

Go ahead, this is a very nice dress. I wear it belted as is or over a cardi, depending on the weather. Use as lightweight a fabric as possible…
