Pattern Sighting: StyleArc

May 12, 2011

I mentioned in a previous post that Pippa Middleton’s dress was more susceptible to be copied as wedding dress than Princess Katherine’s. So I didn’t really fall off my chair when Misscelie published that the Australian pattern shop styleARC had released the pattern you’d need (you’ll also find the pattern of Katherine Middleton’s engagement dress, the Kate dress):

I had never heard of this pattern shop before so I visited the site and found the patterns cute, suited for daily wear and not overpriced (don’t know about shipping though). I like:

  • the simply Sally top:

  • the Emma dress:

  • the Janet dress:

Does anybody know this shop? Please share your experience  🙂

Great blog! Pippa’s dress was really gorgeous. Thanks for the StyleArc link, did not know the site before, so unfortunately I can’t help with any information.
But I found another cowl neck pattern on BurdaStyle:
And a tutorial for drafting the shape:

I have sewn the Linda Pants, Jane Overshirt, Cate Cowl and I am in the middle of sewing the Leah pants, and next on the table is the Demi Drape.

So far the fit is pretty much spot on, but for me as a beginner the instructions are lacking. ie there arent any, just a crude order of construction. But for you experienced sewers, I think you would love them.

The patterns are hand drawn on thick white paper, seam allowances are also marked and notched (which I love).

Shipping in Australia is very reasonable and turnaround time is about 5 days.

Only one size in each pattern so choose carefully 🙂

If you go to there is a thread on stylearc in the forums.

Really good reviews so far by Aussies and Americans alike.
