Three-trick dress and my first Vogue pattern
Yet another Ottobre pattern. I’m thinking about getting a subscription. The next issue is coming out July 10 and I can’t wait already, although I know it won’t be available here in Germany until at least a week later). Here’s another fast dress from the 03/2009 issue. It’s called the three-trick dress because it can be worn either sleevesless or with one or two sets of sleeves. Again, I combined a flower and a checked fabric. I’ve been doing it a lot lately. Here are the pictures:
It’s the first time I’m somewhat disappointed by an Ottobre pattern (but only somewhat). I think the other set of sleeves will look much better but I didn’t have enouch yellow fabric left to make them. O well, I guess I have to go back to the fabric store… 😉
Another project I decided to tackle is the jacket of Vogue 1099 in a vibrant red linen I got at the Holland market and a polyester lining. I know it’s almost pervert to be combining linen with polyester but these fabrics just matched to well. I didn’t have time to shoot pictures but you’ll see in time. I’m beginning with the lining and facing in order to be able to correct the fit before I cut my fashion fabric. I read this on another sewing blog but I can’t recall which one. I’ll be updating on the progress of this project.
Alors là, je dis chapeau Ghains!! Tes productions sont vraiment superbes. Il faut dire que tu as un très très joli manequin pour les porter. Makéba est sublime.
